Have You Considered Sanibel Island?

Have you considered Sanibel Island? The barrier island just west of the greater Fort Myers area has a lot of offer!

Known for its conservation land, unique wildlife, and natural shell-lined beaches, Sanibel is not only a great place to vacation, but to live and work as well.

Sanibel Is Our Home

Sanibel is where we, the McCallion family, have lived and worked for over a decade now! It has been a great place to start a business, with a true small-town feel and a strong sense of community between the island organizations.

It’s also been a great place to raise our family of four kids! All of our kids have attended The Sanibel School on island, with our youngest still enrolled there. The Sanibel School is a K-8th Grade National Blue Ribbon “A” rated public school on Sanibel, averaging about 200-400 students each year.

Did you know?

You don’t have to live on island for your kids to attend The Sanibel School? They are now accepting off-island attendance waivers, with great options for bus pick up and after school care for parents working on island.

The smaller student-to-teacher ratios offer some of the best public school education you can find in Lee County. You can learn more about The Sanibel School by visiting the Lee County school website here, https://sbl.leeschools.net/

Sharing Our Sanibel Story

We love to talk about Sanibel and what it’s like to live on island. We’re also not afraid to mention the potential drawbacks of living over the bridge, on a barrier island. So, if you are ever curious to know “how things work” for us as a family of six, don’t hesitate to reach out with questions!
