More About Marco Island
Water, Water Everywhere
Marco is a boat owner's dream town, with canals on almost every street leading out to the beautiful blue water in the Gulf of Mexico. Right as the sun rises, you’ll see a fleet of center console boats heading out to catch some fresh yellowtail, grouper or snapper. Both offshore and back bay fishing is easily accessible from Marco Island.
Chill Out
If fishing sounds like too much work, there’s always Keewaydin Island that you can boat to, hop off, and relax on. The backside of the island is a popular sandbar for boats to pull up, and get off to walk the beach. There are even a few food-trucks (boats) that stop on Keewaydin, serving fresh grouper tacos, burgers and ice cream. Does it get better than that?
Beach Bum
Okay, maybe you’d rather just drive, walk or bike to the beach and vegetate in the sand all day. That’s an option! Tigertail beach is a popular spot or the long stretch of sand in front of the high-rise resort condos. In fact, grab yourself a bite to eat and a cold cocktail at one of the beachfront resort bars. They have amazing views and a great breeze!
Play A Round
… a round of Golf! Yes, Marco has two golf courses the Island Country Club, and Hideaway Beach Golf Course. The golf courses actually have the most grass you’ll find on Marco, as the rest of the island is pretty built-out with homes and concrete sidewalks. The country clubs boast beautiful grounds, nice fitness centers, tennis courts, restaurants, and banquet rooms with picture-perfect backdrops.
Something For Everyone
Marco is a fun little island community in Southwest Florida. There are numerous small businesses and mom and pop shops with local SWFL owners and employees. And, there are also the big name grocery stores and chain fast-food restaurants you’d find on the mainland. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, so take a drive down and explore!
