The area we refer to as “Greater Naples” includes the City of Naples, which borders Keewaydin Island, and North Naples, which borders Bonita Springs. With roughly 14 miles of coastline, Naples extends from the Gulf of Mexico east towards Interstate 75, with lots of goodies in between! As you may know, Naples is known for high-end shopping, fine dining, flashy cars, and historic homes. It’s also home to fantastic art galleries, unique museums, musical theaters, and of course, the beach!

More About Naples

The Naples Pier

We cannot mention Naples without first talking about the historic Naples Pier. First established in 1888, the pier has become an icon of the City of Naples. Literally, the pier is featured in the City’s seal! The pier is a popular fishing spot for locals, and dolphin watching spot for visitors. Not to mention the perfect place to capture amazing photos of the sunset. Enough said.

Downtown Naples

Also referred to as Old Naples, the downtown area is walking distance from the Naples Pier. Actually, you’ll likely stroll past another iconic structure, the Palm Cottage, an Old Florida home built in 1895, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The downtown area along Gulf Shore Boulevard features a number of restored Old Florida homes, along with a number of newer larger estates. It’s a great place to go for a walk or bike ride, and admire the different architecture and landscape designs.

Break Out The Ball Gown

It’s time to break out that ball gown you’ve been hiding in the back of the closet! Naples always has a fancy event to attend. Whether you catch a show at the Naples Players or a performance at Artis Naples, it’s time to dress to impress! Of course, not every evening outing or show in Naples calls for suit and tie. Catch a movie at one of the cinemas, or a comedy show at the club. You won’t go bored, that’s for sure!

Shopping Shoes

Put on your shopping shoes and get ready! Naples is home to two popular shopping districts, 5th Avenue, and Third Street South, both located in the downtown area. Here you’ll find high-end retailers, jewelry stores, fine dining and more. Besides the downtown shopping districts, Naples has other great shopping strip malls, and a larger shopping mall, the Coastland Center. There’s also the Mercato, the Waterside Shops, the Village Shops on Venetian Bay, and the list goes on…

Work Up An Appetite

After a day of serious shopping, stop at a cafe for lunch, and make sure you make reservations for dinner. There are plenty of options downtown, and all along Tamiami Trail. Choose from several stand-alone restaurants in town or upscale dining options inside the hotel resorts. There’s no shortage of beachfront restaurants to choose from!

Take Me To The Beach

Yes, finally - the beach! Naples is a clean and tidy beach town with beach access points on almost every street end. Many Naples residents can enjoy the benefit of walking or biking to the beach. You can also drive to Lowdermilk Park, or Vanderbilt Beach to find beachside parking. Not to mention the Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, or Clam Pass Park, both of which have really nice facilities and picnic areas.

Boating Naples

Last, but certainly not least, Naples is a great place for boating! Most canals and marinas are just minutes from the Gulf, where the waters glisten with a beautiful aqua blue. Go off-shore fishing or even fish in the backwater bays. Dinner sunset cruises are amazing, followed by a stroll down some of the canal-front homes to awe at the mega yachts. Getting out on the water is one of the best ways to enjoy Naples!
